The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates. Its water was dried up, that the way might be prepared for the kings that come from the sunrise.

[12] The sixth messenger poured his bowl on the great Euphrates River. Its waters dried up, preparing a pathway for the kings from the East to advance—just as the Red Sea had once been dried up, but this time marking judgment rather than deliverance.
