He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

(15) And He said to them, "You're justifying yourselves innocent-righteous before men but The אֱלֹהִים Elohim knows your hearts because what's exalted in men is detestable before אֱלֹהִים Elohim's sight."

Jesus confronted them directly: "You work so hard to appear righteous in public, but God sees straight through to your hearts. What humanity celebrates often disgusts God.
