We see the author link angelic messengers to gods (elohim) here because in Psalm 97:7, the Psalmist doesn’t say angels but gods: “Worship Him, all you gods.” This highlights that, to a Hebrew, elohim or god meant a heavenly being. However, the One and only Elohim (The Supreme Heavenly Being or the Godhead) is different and Most High Above all other elohim. His name, as we know it today, is Yahweh Yeshua or the LORD Jesus. Whenever you see all caps LORD in your Bible, that is the personally revealed name יהוה (Yahweh). See Exodus 3:13-14.
The F.O.G Bible Project: God's Word is too vast & mysterious for a single perspective. We all have a story, and as believers we all carry the Holy Spirit. So whether you're a Bible scholar, or you have a testimony of how the Spirit illuminated a verse or word - your comment matters in this historic translation.
