This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;

[4] This issue only came up because some people who falsely claimed to be believers had infiltrated our community. Like undercover agents, they slipped in to spy on the freedom we experience in Jesus the Messiah, hoping to drag us back into religious bondage.
