[9] However, some hearts grew increasingly hardened. These opponents not only rejected the message but began speaking venomously against the Way of Jesus in public gatherings. Recognizing the toxic atmosphere, Paul led the believers away. He began holding daily discussions in Tyrannus's lecture hall, a place where ideas were freely exchanged.
