When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This was during the days of unleavened bread.

[3] Seeing that this brutal action pleased the Jewish opponents of the church, Herod arrested Peter during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. Political expediency trumped justice, as it often does.
