So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.

(12) So then, though I wrote to you, it wasn't for the offender nor for the done harm but rather that your diligent eagerness for us may be made known to you before יהוה YAHWEH's sight.

[12] So although I wrote that challenging letter, it wasn't primarily about the one who did wrong or the one who was wronged. Rather, I wrote so that before God you would realize the depth of your devotion to us.

If, then, I also wrote to you—not for his cause who did wrong, nor for his cause who did suffer wrong, but for our diligence in your behalf being manifested unto you before God—
