He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same condemnation as the devil.

[6] Don't rush to appoint someone who's just beginning their journey with the Messiah. Like a young plant needs time to develop deep roots, new believers need time to mature. Otherwise, pride might take root instead, leading to the same downfall that snared the Adversary.
