They went out from us, but they didn’t belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.

They went out{G1831}{(G5627)} from{G1537} us{G2257}, but{G235} they were{G2258}{(G5713)} not{G3756} of{G1537} us{G2257}; for{G1063} if{G1487} they had been{G2258}{(G5713)} of{G1537} us{G2257}, they would{G302} no doubt have continued{G3306}{(G5715)} with{G3326} us{G2257}: but{G235} they went out, that{G2443} they might be made manifest{G5319}{(G5686)} that{G3754} they were{G1526}{(G5748)} not{G3756} all{G3956} of{G1537} us{G2257}.
KJV with Strongs
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us. But their departure was to reveal that not all of them were of us.
The F.O.G
[19] These deceivers emerged from our own communities but never truly belonged to us. If they had been genuine, they would have remained. Their departure exposed their true nature - they were never really part of our family. They went out from us, but they never truly belonged to us; for if they had, they would have remained with us. Their departure proves that they did not truly belong.
The F.O.G Paraphrase
out of us they went forth, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but—that they might be manifested that they are not all of us.
